Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She then worked as an anchor in the morning and a reporter for WCBD TV. The stories she reported in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police when it comes to DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to state authorities issuing more strict rules in these instances. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from The Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. In the years following her stay at Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative reporter. She then joined Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. Additionally, she is co-anchor for Dateline NBC and NBC News Today.
